PLUMBING MAINTENANCE

About Company

18 Years of Experience

My name is Jared Dietrick and I have been involved in the plumbing industry for over 18 years, 11 of which as a Master Plumber. I have just about seen and done it all; from new construction, to emergency repairs, to bathroom remodels, to installing efficient tankless water heaters. After working for another plumbing company for 10 years, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own company in 2016. In doing so, I have been able to take care of my clients’ needs while simultaneously running the company in a way that aligns with my values.

I grew up in Gettysburg, PA and have been serving this community as well as the surrounding areas. I love helping my clients take care of their property and enjoy bringing their plumbing into the 21st century.

Plumbing FAQs

Plumbing FAQs

Here are some FAQs and answers to ease your mind

How often should I have my plumbing system inspected?

It’s advisable to have a professional inspect your plumbing system at least once every two years to catch any potential issues early.

What can I do to prevent plumbing problems?

Regular maintenance includes checking for leaks, cleaning drains, avoiding flushing non-degradable items, and insulating pipes to prevent freezing.

What should I do if I have a plumbing emergency?

Turn off the main water supply to prevent further damage, contact a professional plumber immediately, and make temporary fixes like using towels to absorb leaks.

Why is my water pressure low?

Low water pressure can be caused by clogs in pipes, a problem with the pressure regulator, or issues with the municipal supply. A plumber can diagnose and address the issue.

How can I prevent my pipes from freezing in the winter?

Insulate pipes in unheated areas, keep the home’s temperature consistent, and allow faucets to drip slightly to prevent freezing.

What should I avoid putting down the kitchen sink?

Avoid grease, coffee grounds, and fibrous foods like celery, which can clog drains and lead to plumbing issues.

How can I clear a clogged drain?

You can use a plunger or a plumber’s snake to clear clogs. For persistent issues, a chemical drain cleaner or professional help may be needed.

Is it safe to use chemical drain cleaners?

Chemical drain cleaners can be harsh and potentially damaging to pipes. They should be used cautiously, and it’s often better to use mechanical methods or call a plumber.

Why is my toilet constantly running?

A running toilet can be caused by a faulty flapper, a problem with the fill valve, or an improperly adjusted float. Replacing or adjusting these components usually resolves the issue.

What should I do if my toilet is clogged?

Try using a plunger first. If that doesn’t work, a toilet auger can be used. Avoid flushing more while it’s clogged, as it could cause an overflow.

How often should I flush my water heater?

Flushing your water heater once a year helps remove sediment build-up and prolong its lifespan.

Why is my water heater not producing hot water?

⦁ Possible causes include a faulty heating element, a tripped circuit breaker, or an issue with the thermostat. Check these components or call a professional for diagnosis.

What is the average lifespan of a water heater?

The average lifespan is around 8 to 12 years, depending on the type and maintenance. Regular maintenance can extend its life.

What are the signs of a leaky pipe?

Signs include water stains on walls or ceilings, musty odors, and increased water bills. Early detection can prevent major damage.

How can I locate a hidden leak in my pipes?

Look for signs like water stains, damp areas, or increased water bills. Professional leak detection tools may be needed for precise location.

Can I fix a plumbing issue myself?

Simple issues like unclogging a drain or tightening a loose faucet can often be handled yourself. For more complex problems, it’s best to consult a professional plumber.

What is the best way to clean a showerhead?

Soak it in a solution of equal parts vinegar and water to remove mineral deposits. Scrub any remaining debris with a brush.
